I slipped through a giant crowd of chattering people. I bit my lip as I made my way to the dressing rooms, I had to find him.
"Hey you!" Oh shit, I slowly turned around and saw the mother of the bride, her brows pulled down in frustration. "Have you set up the flower arrangements?? Has anyone seen the bride?!? Where's my daughter?!?" She started screaming at the other helpers. I had dressed up like them so I could get into see him. I quietly slipped away, darting around the corner as her other daughter dressed in yellow and orange pastel dresses tried to calm her down. I grabbed a large arrangement of flowers and hid my face behind it as I walked through the hallways, searching for him. The love of my life, my best friend who was about to make the biggest mistake of his life.
"You Stupid- That's not how it's suppose to go. You walk like this at exactly three minutes into the song after the flower girl!!" I sprinted past the room where the bride was yelling at poor Oregon. I had to run before I could strangle her and blow my cover.
"HEY Don't You Talk To My Sisters That Way!!!!" I heard Texas yelling at her, I fought a smile.
"Just Because you're marrying our brother doesn't mean Shit!" I heard California and New York yell.
"Hahahahaha." I couldn't help but smile when I heard his laugh. I followed laugh and ran into Matthew.
"I'm sorry Mattie."
"Oh don't worry about it. At least you noticed me." He smiled.
"How's Alfred doing?"
"Well, considering his getting married to someone that is completely wrong for him." He frowned.
"That's why I came to see him. I can't let him do this."
"ALFRED!!!" I heard the mother of the bride scream. We both jumped, Matthew turned to face me.
"I'll get rid of her, you go talk to Alfred." He whispered, I nodded. I walked into the room behind them.
"Hold still you git!" I heard Arthur yell at someone.
"Oui, for once I agree with him and I hate to admit it but hold still." They were holding Alfred down trying to get his bowtie on. Alfred, of course being him, struggled and squirmed.
"The hero can do it himself!" He shouted.
"Here let me help him." My voice was barely louder then a whisper, but I knew they would here it. They spun around and saw me standing in the doorway. Alfred's expression melted from one of frustration to a huge crooked goofy grin.
"__________." My brows pulled together and I started to play with the hem of my short black dress.
"Umm we'll leave the two of you alone." Arthur smiled and tugged Francis behind him. I jumped as Francis past. I glared at him and he winked. I placed my hand on the place on my bottom where he had pinched me. I looked back at Alfred who still had his dumbstruck expression in place. I smiled, this was my Alfred. I walked up to him and started to fix his bow tie.
"Oh Alfred, how did you manage to do this?" I chuckled and finally managed to undo the mess he had created. "There." I smiled and dropped my hands. He grabbed one of them and held it there. I looked up into his aqua blue eyes.
"You know how happy I am to see you." He whispered.
"Alfred." His expression changed as he read the sadness in my eyes. "Why are you doing this?"
"I have to..." He looked away, I grabbed his face and forced him to look at me.
"You don't Alfred, No you don't." He easily broke away and turned away.
"Yeah I do." His head dropped and hung there. I walked around to face him. He was staring at the floor, his gaze slowly came up my leg then my side and finally rested on my face. "What are you wearing??" His head came up and he stared at me perplexed.
"Oh." I blushed remembering the little maid dress I was wearing. "It was the only way I could get in here without being recognized."
"You look kinda hot like that." He grinned.
"Shut up Alfred." I looked away blushing. "You're getting married." I sighed. "Do you even know how she treats your sisters??" He looked away. "She was yelling at Oregon on my way here Alfie! You deserve much better then her." I grabbed his face turning it again. "You know me I wouldn't be here if you had a good woman, but you're going to marry a bitch, Alfred. Poor Mattie is probably getting yelled at by her witch of a mother." He winced. "I've stayed quiet for way too long. You can't do this, especially since..." I let go of face and dropped my gaze. I backed up taking a few deep breaths, then I looked back at him. "I love you Alfred F. Jones. I had to tell you that and give you this." I strut up to him and kissed him. He quickly responded by kissing back. "I had to kiss the love of my life at least one." I whispered as I backed away. "G-good bye Alfred." I spun around and ran.
"_______!" I heard him yell. I burst into tears and quickly hid in a closet when I heard the bride screaming at Alfred. I knew that they were probably looking for me so I calmed down enough and wiped the tears from my face. I messed up my hair. And was about to open the door when the knob turned, I thought as fast as I could and turned pretending to look for something.
"Hey what are you doing in here?!?"  It was her mother again. I turned around and with a plastered smile in place.
"Oh I was looking for somezing that the bridesmaids asked for." I said with my best french accent. She seemed to buy it.
"Well I need you to help us look for a young woman. She came to ruin my daughter's wedding to that idiot Alfred." I swallowed my irritation and repressed the urge to punch and break her nose.
"Oui, I'll help." I said in a surprisingly calm voice. She nodded and left. I sighed a huge sigh of relief when she was out of sight. I heard a small girl crying and saw Hawaii crying rubbing her eyes with one hand and her little stuffed sea turtle. "What's wrong Hawaii??" She saw me and ran up to me. I picked her up and walked around looking for one of her sister. When she finally calmed down enough she answered.
"The lady that Big brother Alfie is getting married to, called me a brat and spanked me because I did something wrong. I tried my very best and hardest, but she was still mean to me." That was it,  My last straw. I stomped to the bridesmaid's dressing room. I saw Texas comforting Oregon.
"Hawaii there you are." California held her hands out to me and I handed her over. New York shut the door behind me and then hugged me.
"You know there looking for you everywhere." She grinned.
"Yea, Do you know what that bitch did to Hawaii??" They all looked at me and shook their head. Hawaii told her older sister's what happened. "Alfred is still going ahead and marrying her isn't he?" They all nodded. I couldn't let this happen, No! I wouldn't let this happen. "Do you have another dress for me?"
"Honey, there a lot of us of course we have extras." Texas smiled at me.

I took a deep breath and looked over at New Mexico and Wyoming. They slightly smiled, I turned to looked Nebraska. She nodded. I looked around at all the other states scattered through out the nave of the church. The church was packed with countries, states, provinces, every kind of kind of territory you could imagine. Well it was Alfred's wedding, I rolled my eyes. The music started and the wedding began. My eye twitched at the out-of-tune musicans, it sounded more like a dirge(a funeral song) rather than a beautiful melody.
"They could have asked me instead of gotten his ga-" Hungary cut off Austria's angry grumbling in the pew in front of us. I giggled, he was right it sound like garbage. I looked up at Alfred, he looked miserable. Mattie was at his side comforting him as best he could standing next to him. The other groomsmen consisted of the rest of the Allies. The wedding march played and everyone stood up, I hid myself as best I could with the states I hid with. I rolled my eyes at the bride as she glided down the aisle like a pageant queen.
"She looks like a drunk cupcake." New Mexico whispered, the few of us there tried not to laugh without much success, even Nebraska let out a few chuckles. Montana and Delaware gave us weird looks from a two or three pews ahead. We calmed down by the time the death march ended. I started having second thoughts during the ceremony. Then I heard the cue words that we had all been waiting for.
"If there is anyone one who does not think this two should be wed Speak Now or forever hold your peace." I took a deep breath and looked at the girls who all at one point looked at me from around the church. I stood up and yelled.
"I Object!!" There was gasped and turning of heads. My hands shook and I felt strong hands grab them. Nebraska on one side and New Mexico on the other. I stared straight ahead at Alfred who was looking at me smiling.
"What The Hell Is She Doing Here?!?!?" The Bride screamed. I looked at her wide-eyed. She charged down the aisle. I ran out easily breaking the grips on my hands. Delaware and Montana along with Tennessee and Michigan on the other side of the church blocked her as I ran out. I hid some curtains in the narthex (it's like the lobby of a church). I felt something grab me and I screamed.
"Hey it's okay it's just us." I saw New Jersey, The Dakotas and West Virginia.

"I ruined everything!" I sobbed. The four had brought me back to the bridesmaid's dressing room.
"That was kinda the point." New Jersey chuckled. I looked up at her.
"Yeah you're right. At least Alfred isn't married to her." I smiled through my tears. There was a knock at the door. North Carolina stood up and answered it. I looked down at the ground again, thinking it was only one of the states.
"Hey can I talk to _______?" My head snapped up and I saw Alfred talking to North Dakota.
"Of course you can! Come on girls, let's give them some privacy." West Virginia grabbed New Jersey and South Dakota pushing them out the door. Alfred stepped inside after they left, shutting the door behind him. I stood up, wiping away my tears. Alfred smiled a gentle smile as he came toward me.
"Alf-" He cut me off with a kiss. I wrapped my arms around him as he wrapped his arms around me.
"I love you and I'm glad you were here to stop me from being an idiot." I smiled at him. "Will you forgive me?? And-" He let go as he got down on one knee, "Marry me?? We can't let all this wedding stuff go to waste, Can we??" He grinned wide. I nodded and he slipped an engagement ring on my finger. "My mother's engagement ring looks much better on your finger anyway." He laughed as he stood up. I smiled and kissed him again.

'And you say Let's run away now. I'll met you when I'm out of my tux at the back door. Baby, I didn't say my vows. So glad you were around when they said Speak Now.'
